About This Spot

Nestled just off Redwood Highway in the quiet town of Cave Junction, CJ Coffee and Grill greets you with a calm, unhurried vibe that feels like a purposeful pause in a busy day. The moment you step inside, there’s an inviting warmth—not only from the steam rising from freshly brewed coffee, but from the friendly exchanges that seem to come as naturally as the morning light filtering through the windows. It’s the kind of place where the rhythm slows to the gentle hum of people savoring their meals and the quiet murmur of conversations around cozy tables.

This café and breakfast spot strikes a comfortable balance between casual local hangout and thoughtful neighborhood gem. Whether you’re settling in with a delicate iced coffee to beat the afternoon heat or warming up with a breakfast croissant that’s just flaky enough to remind you of home, the menu is a quiet celebration of familiar flavors with a touch of unexpected creativity. The kitchen turns out hearty offerings that invite conversation and moments of ease, like the satisfying chilaquiles or a breakfast torta paired with a salsa that’s uniquely mellow and soulful.

Service here moves with a genuine kindness and attentiveness that complements the laid-back atmosphere without rushing the experience. You’ll find the ambiance punctuated by small, human details—the softness of oat milk in a chai latte, the cheerfulness of a hello from the staff, or the lively chatter shared by fellow travelers and locals alike. It’s not a place that demands attention but one that quietly earns it, one meal and smile at a time.

For those passing through or locals looking for a reliable spot to relax, CJ Coffee and Grill has a welcoming embrace waiting, where the simple pleasure of good coffee and thoughtfully prepared food creates a small moment of joy amid the day’s journey.

So I have travelled pretty extensively in my life, and I am a person that enjoys good service and food. Was very pleasantly surprised to finally try CJ Coffee, just outside Cave Junction, OR. I was impressed on the friendly and prompt service. My dirty chai was good, but the OMG was the Chilaquiles with choice of meat for breakfast. I chose the side of el pastor. It was perfect in cooked technique, as well as very well presentation. The chips were still firm, the eggs cooked right, and the pastor was tender and seasoned just right, bite sized pieces. Mexican cream, not sour cream for drizzle. This is definitely a must for me moving forward.

Pleasant inside seating and clean bathroom. Sounds from the lottery machines in a small back room detract slightly from an enjoyable atmosphere. Chicken salad was made with fresh romaine and seasoned chicken. Street tacos were tasty, though a little onion heavy. Food was ready quickly and the server also brought us water. Would definitely come here again if passing through.

Just got the basic breakfast and should have tried the burritos. Nice place to try while going through the town

Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. We had the veggie tacos. They were a bit small, but very reasonably priced. They have non-dairy milk options. The chai latte with oat milk was really good! Staff was friendly and helpful.

2 HUGE breakfast burritos that are so yummy and 2 large hot mochas with whip that were phenomenal! What more could you ask for when stopping by CJ’s on your road trip home?!! Sure wish we could take y’all back to Utah with us!! 5 STARS⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommend for breakfast burritos and coffee!

So good! Had the street tacos and chicken strips, those are some amazing fries (more like curly potato wedges). Great coffee too!
